As from the 1st April 2008, funding for community festivals will be delivered through the 26 local authorities.

While DECAL will retain policy responsibility for the Community Festivals Fund, local Councils will have delegated authority to determine and administer awards to festival organisations.

Funds will be distributed to Local Authorites early in the New Year once the draft budget has been approved by the Assembly.
